Tip 29: unfollowing takes your delivery method choices with it. Follow again later and you choose again from scratch.
Aletto Tips
Thirty days, thirty things the app does that are not obvious. One a day, in order, then it stops. Subscribe when you install, unsubscribe when you are done.
Publications
Tip 28: your timeline is assembled when you open it, not when an alert is published. A channel with fifty thousand followers still writes one row per alert.
Tip 27: Discover hides channels you own and channels you already follow, so everything on it is something new.
Tip 26: every public channel has a web page. Send the link to somebody who has never installed the app and it shows them the alerts.
Tip 25: a channel update outlives the alert that made it. Delete the alert and the channel update stays where it was published.
Tip 24: the text of your alerts is encrypted before it is stored. So are the labels on your saved locations.
Tip 23: a request that goes unanswered stays pending, and a refused one reports the same way. That is deliberate — saying no should cost nothing.
Tip 22: blocking somebody takes you out of each other's suggestions. It never announces itself to them.
Tip 21: a circle member sees what you send to the circle. They do not see who else is in it.
Tip 20: pausing an alert stops it firing and keeps everything else. Deleting it takes the history with it.
